The National Police Service (NPS) of Kenya has refuted claims that seven Kenyan police officers deployed to Haiti were killed, dismissing a viral TikTok video suggesting such an incident as fake.
These officers were sent as part of a contingent to support a United Nations-backed peacekeeping mission in Haiti, initiated by President William Ruto.
The first group of 400 officers, led by coordinator Noor Gabow and accompanied by National Security Adviser Monica Juma, began patrolling Port-au-Prince upon arrival on June 25.
A second team is scheduled to depart for Haiti on July 15.
The Kenyan officers are collaborating with local police to maintain peace and security in key locations across the capital, including the airport, port, hospital, presidential palace, and major thoroughfares.
