Rivers United, a team in the Nigeria Premier Football League, has appointed Finidi George as their new coach for the 2024/2025 season.
Last season, Stanley Eguma was relieved of his duties as technical adviser, and interim coach Evans Ogenyi took over.
Finidi, who previously managed Enyimba International and briefly served as coach for the Super Eagles during the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, retired after two games.
On Wednesday afternoon, Rivers United signed Finidi to a two-year contract, and he was promptly introduced as the team’s new leader.
His primary goal for the upcoming season is to revive Rivers United to its former success and secure a spot in continental competitions.
