The Nigeria Police have arrested Ubani Zion Chibuike, known as ZFancy, for making videos where he allegedly simulated severe crimes like rape and rituals.
ZFancy, who had been keeping a low profile, claimed the videos were staged to attract attention again.
This confession led to mixed reactions, with social media influencer VeryDarkBlackMan promising to ensure ZFancy’s arrest for trivializing such a serious issue.
According to a statement by Force Spokesperson ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, “The Nigeria Police Force, through the NPF National Cybercrime Centre, detained Nigerian prankster Mr. Ubani Zion Chibuike (AKA ZFancy) at an apartment in Wuye, Abuja.
This arrest came after the circulation of videos on social media where ZFancy was implicated in serious crimes, including rape, causing significant concern among social media users.”
“ZFancy admitted that the videos were scripted and part of his attempt to regain the spotlight. Nevertheless, such actions have severe implications and cannot be dismissed lightly.
The Nigeria Police Force is dedicated to ensuring public safety and holding individuals accountable for actions that incite fear or disturb public peace.
“The Police warn pranksters and content creators to follow the law and be mindful of creating content that could pose threats to the public and jeopardize national security.
We urge the public to remain calm as we proceed with the necessary legal actions in this case.”
