This Friday, American rapper Snoop Dogg will carry the Olympic flame through the streets of Saint-Denis, leading up to the grand opening ceremony of the Paris Games. He will be joined by French actress Laetitia Casta, French rapper MC Solaar, and retired Ukrainian pole-vaulter Sergey Bubka.
Snoop Dogg, originally from Los Angeles – the host city for the 2028 Games – will take part in the final relay of the Olympic flame in Saint-Denis, a culturally vibrant northern suburb of Paris that is home to the Olympic Stadium and Aquatics Centre. This was confirmed by the town’s mayor, Mathieu Hanotin, on Monday.
After a two-month journey across France, the flame will pass through the athletes’ village, which covers Saint-Denis and nearby Saint-Ouen, on Friday morning, before arriving at the Olympic Stadium and Aquatics Centre.
Besides his involvement in the torch relay, the 52-year-old rapper will also serve as an Olympic commentator for NBC during the 2024 Games.
