The Katsina State Government has enacted a 24-hour curfew in the Dutsin-Ma Local Government Area and a nightly curfew from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am in the other thirty-three Local Government Areas.
This action follows an Emergency State Security Council meeting prompted by law-and-order issues linked to nationwide protests.
This comes after Kano State imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew on Thursday to help security forces address widespread violence and looting.
In Borno State, the Nigeria Police Force, with other security agencies, has also instituted a 24-hour curfew after an improvised explosive device exploded in Kawori, killing 19 people and injuring others.
The police stated that the curfew was implemented on the orders of Governor Babagana Zulum to prevent further unrest and ensure public safety.
