The police have detained at least 31 people who gathered to protest at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja, the officially designated site for the #EndBadGovernance demonstrations.
According to News Central, some organizers were arrested after being denied access to Eagle Square and directed to the MKO Abiola National Stadium instead.
Federal Capital Territory (FCT) authorities had secured a court order confining the protests to the MKO Abiola National Stadium.
Early today, protesters initially avoided the venue but began assembling again around 11 a.m., prompting the police to intervene with gunfire and tear gas.
Journalists who identified themselves were also detained briefly before being released and instructed to leave the area.
