Rapper Nelly was arrested early Wednesday morning near St. Louis for possession of a controlled substance and failing to appear for an old traffic charge.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Nelly, whose real name is Cornell Haynes, was taken into custody around 4:45 a.m. in Maryland Heights for having ecstasy pills and lacking car insurance.
A spokesperson from the Maryland Heights Police Department confirmed that Nelly was arrested at the Hollywood Casino and taken into custody due to a failure to appear on an old traffic charge.
Missouri’s online court records do not currently list any new charges against Nelly.
