After weeks of global excitement watching top athletes compete, the 2024 Summer Olympics is nearing its end. The Games, which began on July 26, will conclude on August 11 with a closing ceremony slated for Sunday evening.
The ceremony is set to start at 3:00 p.m. ET/12:00 p.m. PT. It will feature the host country’s head of state and the IOC president greeting each other, playing the national anthem of France, and showcasing the flags and athletes from participating countries.
Traditional elements like the medal presentations, the playing of the Greek national anthem, and the extinguishing of the Olympic flame is expected.
The IOC has not confirmed performers yet, but according to reports Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers are anticipated to perform. H.E.R. is also expected to sing the U.S. national anthem in preparation for the Los Angeles 2028 Games.
French media suggest Tom Cruise might perform a daring stunt on the Stade de France roof.
Additionally, social media buzz hints at possible surprise performances by Beyoncé and Taylor Swift, though these claims remain unverified.
