The organizers of the nationwide hunger protests have announced plans to resume demonstrations on October 1.
The protests, initially held from August 1 to 10 in response to the country’s rising cost of living, will continue according to Omoyele Sowore, the AAC presidential candidate and a key figure in the movement.
Sowore revealed this during an interview with News Central TV, noting that organizers are in ongoing discussions to prepare for the next phase, which could start earlier based on changing circumstances.
The protest leaders are demanding the reversal of fuel subsidy removals, an increase in the minimum wage to N250,000, the release of Nnamdi Kanu, and the adoption of a new constitution.
Despite President Bola Tinubu’s appeal to halt the protests, the organizers remain determined to proceed, dismissing his address as unpersuasive.
