President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has departed Nigeria for a three-day official visit to Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, following an invitation from President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.
The President’s flight left at approximately 1:00 PM on Wednesday.
Present to see him off were the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Hope Uzodimma; Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq; the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; and FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, among others.
According to a previous statement by Presidential Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, upon his arrival in Malabo, President Tinubu will meet with President Nguema Mbasogo at the Presidential Villa. The two leaders will engage in discussions and are expected to sign agreements related to oil, gas, and security.
The statement reads in part, “President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja for Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, on Wednesday, August 14, for a three-day official visit at the invitation of President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.
“Upon arrival, President Tinubu will meet with the Equatorial Guinean President at the Presidential Villa, where discussions will be held, and agreements on oil, gas, and security will be signed.”
Joining President Tinubu on this trip are the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, and other cabinet members, who will participate in signing agreements and exploring opportunities to strengthen bilateral relations between Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea.
