On Sunday afternoon, hundreds of people assembled in Loring Park, downtown Minneapolis, to protest and march under slogans like “Free Free Palestine” and “Not Another Bomb.”
They aimed to deliver a clear message to Vice President Kamala Harris and delegates on their way to the Democratic National Convention in Chicago: halt the Gaza conflict. Emcee Yasmin Hirsi addressed the diverse crowd, emphasizing that President Biden and Vice President Harris should not support what she described as genocide against Palestinians.
The rally, which included Native American dancers and drummers, was part of a broader effort, with 89 similar events held in 36 states, according to organizer Mattias Lehman.
