Former President Donald Trump recently shared a doctored image on social media showing Taylor Swift in red, white, and blue with a message urging people to vote for him in the upcoming November election.
The image, posted on Truth Social, falsely claims Swift endorses Trump, which she does not.
Swift has supported Democrats in the past, including President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, but has not yet endorsed a candidate for the 2024 election.
Additionally, Trump shared other misleading content, such as photos of young women in “Swifties for Trump” shirts and a satirical article about Swift’s canceled concerts in Vienna due to a thwarted attack.
Critics, including Swift fans and watchdog groups, have noted that many images posted by Trump appear to be AI-generated deepfakes, contributing to misinformation online.
Consumer advocates are calling for stronger regulations to address the spread of fake AI images, citing potential risks to elections and public trust.
