During a recent Instagram livestream, Paul, also known as Rudeboy, expressed frustration about his ongoing estrangement from his brothers despite their departure from the music industry.
He questioned, “Even if we’re not working together as Psquare, can’t we still be brothers? Even if we’re not making music, can’t we remain family?” He concluded by stating, “I’ll leave it at that. Thank you. As I mentioned before, I don’t want to dwell on this. It’s unfortunate.”
Paul’s comments came shortly after their older brother, Jude, addressed the rumors about the group’s split in his own Instagram live session on August 17, 2024. Jude refuted Peter’s claims that he had redirected P-Square’s royalties into a private account.
This followed Paul’s recent interview with City FM, where he revealed his split from his twin brother Peter after Peter expressed disinterest in continuing with the group. Paul also alleged that Peter had used the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to have him arrested.
In response, Peter posted an open letter on Instagram on August 12, 2024, expressing his frustration and concerns. He criticized Paul for undermining their shared legacy and his contributions to the group, while also denying the EFCC allegations.
Peter’s letter included, “An open letter to my brother Paul Okoye, aka Rudeboy. I want to clarify that I am not in competition with you or anyone else. However, your repeated interviews discrediting my efforts and claiming you wrote and sang 99% of Psquare’s songs are troubling.”
