A police motorcycle escorting Vice President Harris’s motorcade in Savannah, Georgia, crashed shortly after leaving a restaurant on Wednesday.
According to reports, the motorcade had to slow down and navigate around the crashed motorcycle.
The scene included one person on the ground with visible blood and two other motorcycles, with the single motorcycle appearing to have lost control rather than colliding with something.
Before the crash, Harris and Wisconsin Gov. Tim Walz had visited Sandfly BBQ in Savannah, Georgia, where they met with the restaurant owner, staff, and locals. This visit was part of a two-day campaign tour through southeastern Georgia, as Harris aims to highlight Georgia’s significance in the upcoming election.
Georgia, traditionally a Republican stronghold, saw Joe Biden narrowly defeat Donald Trump in 2020, becoming the first Democrat to win the state in nearly 30 years.
