A 60-year-old Wells Fargo employee was found dead in her office cubicle in Tempe, Arizona, four days after she last scanned into the building. Denise Prudhomme had checked into the office on the morning of Friday, August 16, according to the Tempe Police Department.
On the following Tuesday, a security guard discovered her unresponsive at her desk on the third floor and called 911.
Wells Fargo confirmed that her cubicle was in a less frequented part of the building.
Prudhomme was declared dead at 4:55 p.m., with the cause of death still under investigation by the Maricopa County Medical Examiner. Local reports indicated that some employees had noticed an unpleasant smell but thought it was due to plumbing issues.
No foul play is suspected at this time.
Wells Fargo expressed condolences and assured that counselors are available for employees affected by the incident.
