The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has warned Nigerians about a religious group, Christ Mercy Land Deliverance Ministries, led by Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin, for falsely using NAFDAC’s name.
According to NAFDAC, none of the products sold by the ministry, such as Miracle Water and Miracle Soap, are registered with the agency. The group claims these products have healing powers, including helping women conceive twins.
NAFDAC received complaints about these claims and investigated the ministry.
Despite evidence, the ministry’s officials denied involvement in producing the unregistered products.
NAFDAC’s investigation team faced resistance when they attempted to gather more information.
The ministry also submitted legal documents to delay their investigation.
Furthermore, the ministry claimed they had a contract with Globod Table Water for product production, which NAFDAC says is illegal without its approval.
As a result, NAFDAC sealed the water factory involved in the production of these unregistered miracle products and warned the public not to buy them.
The agency continues its investigation and cautions faith-based organizations against producing unregulated products.
