Former President Donald Trump dismissed Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris for the 2024 presidential election and instead praised Brittany Mahomes, wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
In a Fox & Friends interview on September 11, Trump stated, “I was never a fan of Taylor Swift. She’s very liberal and consistently supports Democrats. She might face consequences for this in the marketplace.”
Swift, who recently endorsed Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, on Instagram, criticized fake A.I.-generated images falsely showing her supporting Trump. She emphasized the importance of transparency and combating misinformation.
Swift expressed her support for Harris and Walz, highlighting their commitment to issues she cares about. She also noted that misinformation has driven her to be transparent about her voting choices.
Trump, meanwhile, praised Brittany Mahomes, a known supporter of Trump and the MAGA movement, stating, “I like Brittany much better than Taylor Swift.” He mentioned that Mahomes is a big fan of his and that he appreciates her support.
Rumors of a rift between Swift and Mahomes were dispelled when the two were seen together at the U.S. Open in New York, where they shared a friendly embrace.
Swift had previously supported Joe Biden in the 2020 election and was expected to endorse Harris.
Walz expressed his gratitude to Swift, recognizing her as a fellow cat owner and appreciating her courage in making her political stance clear.
