In preparation for the nationwide protests planned for October, Nigerian youths greeted key organizer Omoyele Sowore upon his return to Nigeria on Sunday.
Sowore, a former presidential candidate and leader of the rights group Take It Back Movement, is spearheading the “Fearless” protest to highlight the economic difficulties faced by Nigerians.
Upon arriving at Murtala Muhammad International Airport in Lagos, Sowore was briefly detained by the Department of State Services (DSS) due to his involvement in the EndBadGovernance protests from August 1 to 10. After his release, he was warmly welcomed by a large crowd of youths at the airport.
