Spotify recently marked the 10th anniversary of Wizkid’s hit single “Ojuelegba.”
According to Phiona Okumu, Spotify’s Head of Music for Sub-Saharan Africa, the song has amassed over 55 million streams since its release in 2014.
Okumu highlighted that “Ojuelegba” has played a significant role in the global rise of Afrobeats and remains popular worldwide.
The track has notably been streamed the most in the United States, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, and Nigeria. Celebrating its decade-long impact, the song is recognized as one of the defining tracks of Afrobeats and underscores the growing influence of African music on the global stage.
