The scene showed damage to buildings, rubble on the streets, and burned-out vehicles.
The target was Ibrahim Aqil, a key Hezbollah commander linked to past attacks on U.S. interests, including the 1983 Beirut barracks bombing.
Israel has been conducting multiple intelligence operations in Beirut as Hezbollah continues to fire rockets into northern Israel, despite facing significant setbacks, including targeted airstrikes.
Hezbollah is also dealing with security breaches and efforts to locate possible informants.
Israel aims to neutralize Hezbollah’s capabilities, particularly in long-range rocket and drone attacks, as tensions along the Israeli-Lebanese border escalate.
Hezbollah’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah, vowed retaliation, while Israel has intensified strikes to dismantle the group’s infrastructure.
Israel’s efforts include airstrikes on over 100 Hezbollah rocket-launch sites in Lebanon.
