The body of Christianah Idowu, a 300-level student at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), was laid to rest at the Sabo Ikorodu Cemetery in Lagos State. Christianah was reportedly killed by a friend after a ransom was demanded from her parents.
Her remains were exhumed by police for an autopsy, and the results are pending. After the procedure, her body was returned to her family for burial.
Christianah had left her home in the Itaoluwo area of Ikorodu to attend her industrial training at the University of Lagos when she was abducted on the Ikorodu-Yaba road.
The kidnapper demanded a ransom of N3 million from her family. It was later revealed that her friend, Adeleye Ayomide, a 200-level Philosophy student at Olabisi Onabanjo University, was responsible for her abduction and murder.
Ayomide is currently in police custody and will face court proceedings once the investigation is complete.
