The creator of the popular party game Cards Against Humanity is suing SpaceX, led by Elon Musk, for allegedly trespassing and causing damage to a vacant lot the game company owns in Texas.
In a lawsuit filed this week in Texas, Cards Against Humanity claims that SpaceX has been using their property in Cameron County as if it were its own for at least the past six months.
According to the lawsuit, SpaceX, which had previously acquired nearby land, placed construction materials and debris on the game company’s property without permission.
Cards Against Humanity, based in Chicago, bought the land in 2017 as part of a protest against former President Donald Trump’s border wall plans, with 150,000 supporters contributing $15 each to fund the effort.
The company asserts that the land has been preserved in its natural state and displayed a “no trespassing” sign to deter unauthorized access.
They are seeking $15 million in damages, citing a loss of vegetation on the property.
