Nigerian cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, has spoken out about contemplating suicide amidst accusations of offering a N15 million bribe.
Activist and social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, released an audio recording in which Bobrisky allegedly offered N15 million to officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The money was purportedly intended to have money laundering charges against him dropped and to avoid imprisonment at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre in Lagos State.
Bobrisky has denied the authenticity of the audio, calling it fake.
Despite this, in a Facebook post, he expressed feelings of despair and suicidal thoughts due to the ongoing attempts to discredit him. He wrote about how he never thought about suicide before, but the actions of others have now led him to such thoughts.
He emphasized that he doesn’t seek sympathy, stating that those he would have sought it from, his late parents, are no longer alive. He also expressed a sense of defeat, saying that his detractors have won.
