The Lagos State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, announced that the police officers recorded harassing corps members in Surulere, Lagos, are currently under investigation.
He shared this information on X in response to a video that depicted uniformed officers in a tense confrontation with corps members. The user who posted the video claimed that the officers extorted 1 million Naira from them.
In his response, Hundeyin stated: “These officers belong to Area C, Surulere, and the Area Commander has been notified. The individuals involved have been identified and are being questioned. However, we require more than just verbal allegations. Please provide additional details. The surveillance camera should have captured any money exchange, whether cash or electronic transfer. We need something concrete to proceed. We will provide updates on the results of the ongoing interrogation.”
