Considering that Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) is Delta Air Lines’ second-largest hub outside of its Atlanta headquarters, it’s no surprise that Minnesota’s leading airline has announced the extension of its direct flights from MSP to Europe into 2025. So If you’re planning to travel from Minnesota to a popular European destination, there’s some good news: Delta Air Lines has extended its direct flights into 2025.
Last year, Delta announced that it would resume seasonal flights from Minneapolis (MSP) to Dublin, Ireland (DUB) in May 2024. Not long after, Aer Lingus, Ireland’s national airline, also announced it would start direct flights from Dublin to MSP in 2024.
According to a post on X (formerly Twitter) by Kyle Potter from Thrifty Traveler, both Delta Air Lines and Aer Lingus are extending their direct routes between Minnesota and Ireland next year, with additional improvements.
Potter mentioned that Aer Lingus will increase its MSP to DUB flights from four times a week to seven times a week in 2025. Both Delta and Aer Lingus operate these routes seasonally, so flights will likely wrap up in October and resume in the spring of 2025.
This news follows Delta Air Lines’ announcement of new direct flights from MSP to Rome, Italy, starting in 2025.
MSP is the 19th busiest airport in North America, serving nearly 35 million passengers in 2023—a 10 percent increase from 2022. As Delta Air Lines’ second-largest hub and the home base for Sun Country Airlines, MSP handles a significant amount of traffic.
