Former President Jimmy Carter will reach a significant milestone tomorrow, October 1, as he celebrates his 100th birthday, becoming the first U.S. president to reach a century in age.
Born in 1924, Carter served as the 39th president from 1977 to 1981. He is currently in hospice care at his home in Plains, Georgia, where he has resided since February 2023.
His most recent public appearance was at the funeral of former first lady Rosalynn Carter in November.
Although he is facing health issues, those close to him say he is in good spirits, finding enjoyment in Braves games and solace in music.
His grandson, Jason Carter, noted that music has consistently been a source of comfort and inspiration for the former president.
Several celebratory events are planned, including a military flyover with jets over Plains, Georgia, where there will be a naturalization ceremony for 100 new U.S. citizens.
Additionally, a host of World War II-era planes will participate, followed by a concert honoring the 39th president, a lifelong public servant and peanut farmer from Plains.
The city of Plains will also unveil a monument called the “Charters of Freedom,” which will feature permanent replicas of the U.S. Constitution, Bill of Rights, and the Declaration of Independence.
He has survived metastatic brain and liver cancer and underwent brain surgery after a fall in 2019.
According to his family, Carter’s birthday wish is to cast his vote in the upcoming presidential election.
Happy birthday from all of us at:NinaWorldNews.
