A psychiatrist, Dr. Charles J. Sophy, claims he received threats, including homophobic comments, after serving as a marriage counselor for Dr. Dre and his ex-wife, Nicole Young, before and during their divorce.
Sophy is suing Dr. Dre for $10 million, accusing him of a campaign of harassment, including threatening messages and intimidation.
The lawsuit alleges Dre began harassing Sophy in February 2023, sending texts accusing him of ethical breaches and threatening his safety. Sophy also claims Dre hired fake FBI agents to visit his home.
Dr. Dre’s lawyer, Howard King, denies the allegations, accusing Sophy of incompetence and filing the lawsuit in retaliation for Dre’s complaint to revoke his medical license.
