President-elect Donald Trump has appointed Susie Wiles, who managed his successful campaign, as his White House chief of staff.
Wiles is widely praised within and outside of Trump’s team for leading his most focused and well-coordinated campaign to date.
Despite her significant role, she largely stayed out of the public eye and even declined to speak as Trump celebrated his win early Wednesday morning.
“Susie is tough, smart, innovative, and universally admired and respected. She will continue to work tirelessly to Make America Great Again,” Trump stated. “It is a well-deserved honor for Susie to become the first female Chief of Staff in U.S. history. I am confident she will make our country proud.”
Wiles is an experienced Republican strategist from Florida, who also managed Trump’s campaigns in the state in 2016 and 2020.
Previously, she led Rick Scott’s 2010 campaign for Florida governor and briefly worked as campaign manager for former Utah Gov.
