Federal authorities recently confirmed that during a recent sweep at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center—where Diddy is awaiting trial on sex trafficking conspiracy charges—they discovered and seized “drugs, homemade weapons, and electronic devices.”
This sweep, however, was unrelated to Diddy’s presence and had been planned in response to multiple violent incidents, including two fatal stabbings over the summer, which led to murder charges against five inmates.
With Diddy now among the high-profile inmates, the facility is under heightened scrutiny, making this publicized sweep seem like a strategic show of force.
Currently, Combs faces numerous civil lawsuits for sexual assault and has been denied bail by judges in Manhattan.
A federal grand jury is scheduled to review “new evidence” against Combs in the coming week, expected to include fresh testimony, drawing further public attention as the case develops.
