Legendary Olympic gymnast Simone Biles had a message for President Joe Biden shortly after Donald Trump was elected the 47th President of the United States.
On Election Day, Biles shared on Threads that she supported Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee. After Harris’s defeat, Biles appeared to urge Biden to take action in his final months in office.
On X, Biles wrote, “Mr. Biden, I need you to stand up, straighten your back, and make some things shake before your departure. xoxo the women in America.” Earlier that day, she posted on Threads, expressing her frustration with the situation, saying “we deserve better” with a broken heart emoji and “I’m SO sorry, America.”
This wasn’t the first time Biles commented on politics this year. In August, she responded to remarks made by Trump in a June debate, where he claimed that migrants were taking “Black jobs” and “Hispanic jobs” from Americans. Biles tweeted, “I love my black job,” in response to a post by singer Ricky Davila.
Biles had just completed the final show of her 2024 Gold Over America Tour, which celebrated her and other U.S. gymnasts. During the summer Olympics in Paris, Biles further cemented her status as the GOAT of gymnastics, earning three golds and a silver. Over her career, she has won 11 Olympic medals.
