Queermunity, a new resource center for the LGBTQ+ community, has officially opened in Uptown, situated above Magers & Quinn Booksellers. The space is open to everyone and offers a variety of amenities, including office and desk rentals, co-working spaces, a coffee shop, and a library.
Seth Anderson-Matz, the outreach and partnerships manager, expressed excitement about the center’s availability, stating that it is clear the community is eager for a place like this. He believes Queermunity is the first all-ages space of its kind in the Twin Cities, designed to foster unity within the community and attract people to Uptown.
Anderson-Matz emphasized that the goal isn’t to create something entirely new but to bring together existing resources in one location. He views the center as part of the revitalization of the Uptown area. Local residents, like Petty Treason, praised the space, highlighting its role in supporting and nurturing the local community.
Queermunity is open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
