Melania Trump declined an invitation to visit the White House on Wednesday for a meeting with Jill Biden, citing the Biden administration’s 2022 FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago, which was part of a federal investigation into classified documents.
“She’s not going,” a source close to Melania told The Post. “Jill Biden’s husband authorized the FBI to search her private belongings. The Bidens are appalling,” the source commented.
The source also stated, “Jill Biden is not someone Melania feels the need to meet.”
Meanwhile, Melania’s husband, President-elect Donald Trump, is set to meet with President Biden in the Oval Office on Wednesday for the customary post-election meeting between outgoing and incoming presidents.
Traditionally, the First Lady hosts her successor for a meeting over tea at the White House.
Following her husband’s 2016 victory, Melania visited the White House and received a tour from then-First Lady Michelle Obama. However, after Trump lost the 2020 election, he did not invite the Bidens to the White House before their official transition, breaking a longstanding tradition.
The Post has reached out to both the Trump campaign and the White House for comment on Melania’s decision to forgo the meeting.
The FBI’s search of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in August 2022 was part of an investigation into his handling of classified documents from his time in the White House.
