Americans will soon be able to honor iconic TV star Betty White while sending their mail.
The U.S. Postal Service announced on Friday that it will release a commemorative stamp in 2025 featuring the beloved actress.
The stamp, set against a violet background, showcases White smiling, based on a 2010 photo by Kwaku Alston and illustrated digitally by Dale Stephanos.
The Postal Service described the stamp as capturing White’s “spritely sense of fun,” with bubbly background spots reflecting her vibrant personality. The release date for the stamp’s first day of issue has not been announced yet.
White’s stamp was one of several new designs revealed by the USPS for 2025.
Among the other honorees is late musician Allen Toussaint, celebrated for his vast influence across genres, who will be featured in the Black Heritage series.
USPS stamp services director Lisa Bobb-Semple emphasized the Postal Service’s dedication to offering a variety of subjects and designs for stamp collectors.
Other notable TV personalities who have been featured on stamps include Fred Rogers, Bob Hope, Lucille Ball, and Rod Serling.
The USPS also previously announced a stamp for former first lady Betty Ford, whose design was unveiled during a March White House event with First Lady Jill Biden. White, who received 21 Primetime Emmy nominations and won five, passed away on New Year’s Eve in 2021 at the age of 99.
A documentary, “Betty White: A Celebration,” was released in honor of her 100th birthday.
