According to reports, two masked men broke into the Windsor Castle estate last month, stealing two vehicles from a barn.
At the time of the incident, King Charles and Camilla were not on the estate, but Prince William and his family were believed to be staying at Adelaide Cottage, which is part of the estate.
The burglars used a stolen truck to crash through a security gate and then climbed a six-foot fence. Thames Valley Police reported that they received a call about the burglary just before midnight on October 13.
The offenders took a black Isuzu pick-up truck and a red quad bike from a farm building before fleeing towards the Old Windsor/Datchet area. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
Windsor Castle had previously experienced a security scare in 2021 when a man armed with a crossbow was arrested on the grounds, claiming he intended to harm Queen Elizabeth.
