Sharon Osbourne has raised new health concerns linked to her use of Ozempic, with a friend suggesting, “It’s damaged her metabolism, and there’s no reversing it.”
Having spent a lifetime in the public eye, the TV star has undergone numerous procedures over the years, including a gastric band, multiple facelifts, a tummy tuck, eyelift, breast implants, abdominoplasty, and Botox, according to reports.
At 72, Osbourne has been candid about her surgeries. She notably shocked the public last December after shedding 42 pounds using the drug Ozempic.
Although she was initially pleased with the outcome when she began the medication in December 2022, friends say she’s now worried she went too far, even though she stopped taking it last November.
Despite consuming calorie-rich foods, Osbourne hasn’t regained the weight she lost and is reportedly “frustrated” by her inability to recover it.
A concerned friend mentioned, “These weight loss drugs have messed up her metabolism, and there’s no going back. She can’t regain the weight necessary for a healthier appearance. This underscores the risks of these ‘quick fix’ solutions, which aren’t good for the body. Her weight appears to be on an unchangeable decline.”
Osbourne acknowledged last year that she needed to regain weight following her Ozempic-induced loss. Reflecting on her weight loss journey, she shared in an interview, “I began using it in November of last year. I was 142 lbs. at the start. For the first few weeks, I felt extremely nauseous. That sensation passed, but the drug suppresses your appetite, and you end up not eating. What isn’t discussed much is the risk of bowel blockages.”
She added that she hadn’t used the drug for several months, and her weight had stabilized at 97 lbs., a point where she felt she needed to regain weight.
According to Ozempic’s website, side effects can include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and constipation.
Osbourne also warned about the dangers of the drug, emphasizing, “I started Ozempic last year and have been off it for some time now, but my advice is to avoid giving it to teenagers—it’s too easy. You can drop a significant amount of weight quickly, which can lead to addiction, and that’s dangerous. I lost 42 lbs. and couldn’t stop, and now I can’t lose any more.”
Three years ago, Osbourne—who is married to Black Sabbath’s Ozzy Osbourne—shared a negative experience with a facelift that left her face uneven, describing it as the “worst decision she ever made.” During an interview, she recounted, “I looked like a Cyclops. My eyes were misaligned, and my mouth was crooked. I had to wait for it to heal before correcting it.”
