On the eve of Thanksgiving, a Manhattan federal judge denied Sean “Diddy” Combs’ request for bail in his third attempt to secure pretrial release. Combs, charged with sex trafficking and racketeering, will remain in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, notorious for its harsh conditions, rather than celebrating Thanksgiving with his family. The judge concluded that no bail conditions could ensure the community’s safety, citing allegations of decades-long abuse, coercion, and violence orchestrated through Combs’ business empire.
The indictment accuses Combs of serious crimes, including sex trafficking, forced labor, and firearms violations, with evidence such as a video of him assaulting ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in 2016. Prosecutors argued that his wealth should not grant him special treatment, and the judge agreed, pointing to his alleged use of power and resources to evade accountability.
