Caroline Ejibunu, a skilled Nigerian hairstylist, is gearing up to break a new Guinness World Record (GWR) for creating the highest number of hairstyles in a 24-hour period.
The event, called the ‘Hair-a-Thon,’ will take place on December 4 at City Walk 2.0, Ademulegun Road, Ondo state.
Known as Carolaura, she explained that the event aims to celebrate creativity, endurance, and innovation in the beauty industry, while positioning Nigeria as a hub for talent and creativity. Carolaura has received official approval from the GWR organizers for the attempt.
“The Hair-a-Thon is not just about breaking a record; it’s a celebration of creativity, resilience, and the limitless potential of African artistry,” said Carolaura in a statement.
The event will feature several highlights, including Carolaura’s attempt to style an unprecedented number of hairstyles within 24 hours. The event will also be live-streamed globally, offering viewers a unique, immersive experience. Additionally, it will highlight Nigeria’s hairstyling talent, inspiring both professionals and enthusiasts, while encouraging local community involvement.
At present, no one holds the record for the most hairstyles completed in 24 hours, though the record for the most consecutive haircuts within 24 hours is 526, set by Nabi Salehi of A&N Style Hair Studio in London on June 4, 2011.
