Rosemary Oromoni, the mother of Sylvester Oromoni, the 12-year-old boy who tragically died in 2021 after allegedly being bullied at Dowen College in Lagos, has passed away. Her death reportedly occurred in late November after a prolonged struggle with health issues related to high blood pressure.
Her passing comes just over seven months after a Lagos court ruled against the Oromoni family.
In April, the Lagos State Coroner Inquest Court concluded that Sylvester Oromoni’s death was caused by negligence on the part of his parents and doctor, citing a failure to properly treat his enlarged liver.
Sylvester died on November 30, 2021, with his death initially linked to bullying by five senior students at Dowen College and an alleged toxic substance he was forced to ingest. However, in January 2022, the Lagos State Government cleared the five students and five employees of Dowen College of involvement in his death.
The court’s ruling indicated that Sylvester’s health deteriorated under his parents’ care, and he did not receive proper medical attention until it was too late.
