Drake is scheduled to appear in court on December 20 for his petition against Universal Music Group (UMG) and Spotify, following his filing of pre-action petitions against both companies.
The legal action, initiated last month, centers on claims made by Drake’s Frozen Moments LLC regarding the use of bots and payola to artificially boost the popularity of Kendrick Lamar’s song “Not Like Us.”
The petition accuses UMG of launching a campaign to manipulate streaming services and airwaves, bypassing standard business practices.
Additionally, Drake has filed a defamation lawsuit against UMG related to the track.
DJ Funk Flex has voiced support for Drake following the legal filings.
