Starting January 1, 2025, the US Embassy in India will introduce new guidelines for scheduling and rescheduling nonimmigrant visa appointments to improve fairness and reduce wait times.
Under the new rules, applicants can reschedule their appointment once at no extra cost. However, if they miss the rescheduled date or need a second reschedule, they must book a new appointment and pay the application fee again.
The embassy emphasized that these changes aim to streamline the process and urged applicants to attend their scheduled appointments to ensure efficiency and fairness for all.
