T.D. Jakes Enterprises, recognizing the challenges faced by underserved entrepreneurs, launched a new marketplace to bridge a significant gap in resources.
In 2023, the company set out to support underrepresented business owners by addressing the lack of centralized platforms offering vital resources. This led to the creation of the Good Soil Movement in April 2023.
Michael Phillips, Chief Operations Officer of T.D. Jakes Enterprises, explained that despite the efforts of various stakeholders, there was no singular platform offering networking, capital access, back-office support, legal and accounting services, and business plan development. The goal of Good Soil was to address this missing link.
The movement has set an ambitious target: to help 1 million small business owners each generate $1 million in revenue. To further this mission, T.D. Jakes Enterprises acquired Castiron, an e-commerce technology startup, which led to the launch of Nourysh—an all-in-one e-commerce platform designed to support underrepresented entrepreneurs.
Nourysh offers solutions including online and offline payment processing, storefronts, marketing tools, email and SMS campaigns, and AI-powered analytics to help entrepreneurs understand customer behavior.
Phillips emphasized the importance of AI but noted that the human connection remains central to their efforts, with dedicated teams always available to assist entrepreneurs.
Nourysh also provides access to a community of business owners, competitive pricing, and lower fees compared to other platforms.
The platform was designed to be affordable and accessible, ensuring that entrepreneurs can easily onboard and receive comprehensive support.
Phillips described Nourysh as an answer to a prayer for many, offering the tools and support to help small businesses thrive and reach their full potential.
