As Sean “Diddy” Combs faces a sex trafficking trial, Peacock is preparing to release a new documentary that delves into the music mogul’s controversial past.
The documentary, Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy, explores Combs’ early life and his transformation from Sean Combs to Puffy, and later to Diddy. It provides crucial insights into the experiences that shaped him and examines how these forces may have contributed to his darker side. The film offers a fresh perspective on his childhood, rise to fame, and the recent criminal allegations, urging viewers to reconsider everything they thought they knew about the mogul behind the music—and the infamous mugshot.
Featuring new interviews with people close to Diddy, including a childhood friend, a former bodyguard, and a Making the Band winner, the documentary also highlights Al B. Sure!, a former label mate at Uptown Records and Kim Porter’s ex-partner before she dated Diddy. The special includes exclusive footage of Diddy partying at home and in the studio.
Attorney Lisa Bloom, representing Dawn Richards in a civil case against Diddy, describes him as a “monster.” One insider claims that Diddy often made explicit advances during studio sessions and parties, and some of the women present were allegedly underage. Another unidentified woman shares her harrowing experience, stating, “They said they could ship me off and sell me to anyone.”
The 90-minute documentary Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy will stream on Peacock starting January 14.
Diddy, 55, is currently in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, awaiting trial, while also facing over 25 lawsuits related to allegations of sexual misconduct.
