In response to the devastating wildfires sweeping through Los Angeles, the Oscars have announced changes to their schedule.
The nominations for the 97th Academy Awards, originally set for January 17, will now be revealed on January 19.
The Critics Choice Awards also announced on X (formerly Twitter) that their 30th annual ceremony has been postponed from January 12 to January 26 due to the fires. The event will still take place at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, broadcast live on E!, and available on Peacock the next day.
Meanwhile, Oscar nominations voting, which began today, has been extended by two days to allow members more time to submit ballots. Voting will now close on Tuesday, January 14, at 5 PM PT.
The wildfires, which erupted on January 7, 2024, have led to widespread destruction of several homes.
