On January 16, 2025, an official portrait of Donald J. Trump as the 47th President of the United States was unveiled ahead of his inauguration on January 20.
The Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery has displayed a 2019 photograph of President-elect Trump, captured by Pari Dukovic, which shows him seated at the Resolute Desk. This portrait will be on exhibit from January 13 to February 11, 2025, in honor of the 60th presidential inauguration.
The Gallery will reveal Trump’s official commissioned portrait after he completes his final term in office, following the tradition of unveiling presidential portraits post-tenure. Trump notably joins Grover Cleveland as the only U.S. presidents to win non-consecutive terms.
Currently, the National Portrait Gallery’s “America’s Presidents” exhibition features a 2017 photograph of Trump taken by Matt McClain. This exhibit is the only collection of presidential portraits outside the White House that includes all U.S. presidents.
