Olohundare Moshood Jimoh has officially assumed office as the 41st Commissioner of Police for the Lagos State Command, succeeding CP Olanrewaju Ishola, who has been transferred to the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
CP Jimoh, originally from Ilorin, Kwara State, holds a degree in Political Science from Ahmadu Bello University. He joined the Nigeria Police Force in 2000 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police.
According to CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the police spokesperson, CP Jimoh has served in various regions across the country, including Katsina, Cross River, Anambra, the Federal Capital Territory, Oyo, Gombe, and Rivers. His notable roles have included Divisional Police Officer at Central Police Station in Abuja, Force Public Relations Officer, Deputy Commissioner in the Criminal Investigation Department at the Airport Police Command, Deputy Commissioner for Finance and Administration in Oyo State, and Deputy Commissioner for General Investigation at FCID Annex in Gombe.
CP Jimoh’s training includes courses in combat operations, weapons of mass destruction response, crime prevention, social construction, maritime rescue, anti-hijacking, and smart government, among others, with international experiences in countries like South Korea, China, and the United States.
He has received multiple accolades, including the Presidential Award for Public Relations Personality of the Year from the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations. He was also recognized for his work in the African Union Peacekeeping Mission in Darfur, Sudan.
A Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC) Nigeria and a Certified Management Consultant, Jimoh’s previous role was as Commissioner of Police for the Ports Authority Police in Port-Harcourt.
As CP Jimoh begins his leadership in Lagos State, he seeks the support and cooperation of the public to enhance safety, law enforcement, and community trust.
