Wendy Williams is seeking legal representation from A$AP Rocky’s attorney, Joe Tacopina, to challenge her court-appointed guardianship.
Tacopina revealed on the 2 Angry Men podcast that Williams reached out to him after watching the Tubi documentary Saving Wendy, which he described as exposing a serious injustice. He expressed shock over her situation, stating, “Murderers have more freedom than Wendy.”
Tacopina previously represented A$AP Rocky in his Hollywood assault case, helping secure his acquittal despite some jurors doubting the rapper’s “prop gun” defense. Now, Williams hopes the seasoned attorney can help her regain control of her life.
In a January interview on The Breakfast Club, Williams spoke out for the first time since the release of Where Is Wendy Williams?, a Lifetime documentary about her struggles. She compared her guardianship to being in jail and criticized her court-appointed guardian, Sabrina E. Morrissey, who had deemed her “cognitively impaired, permanently disabled, and legally incapacitated.” Williams denied these claims, saying, “I am not cognitively impaired. But I feel like I am in prison,” adding that she is surrounded by elderly individuals in her current living situation.
