Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei dismissed calls for negotiations from “bully states,” arguing that their goal is domination rather than conflict resolution. His remarks came after U.S. President Donald Trump urged Iran to agree to a nuclear deal.
In a Fox News interview, Trump stated that he had sent a letter to Khamenei, suggesting two possible approaches: military action or negotiation, with his preference being a diplomatic agreement. While it is unclear whether Khamenei received the letter, his comments, though not directly naming Trump, strongly rejected the pressure. Citing Iranian state media, Khamenei asserted that Iran would not accept demands imposed by such powers. Speaking in Tehran alongside government leaders, he reinforced Iran’s stance against external coercion. Previously, Trump withdrew from the Obama-era nuclear agreement and authorized a U.S. strike on Iranian commander Qasem Soleimani.
