Community members plan to gather outside the Hennepin County Government Center today from noon to 1:15 p.m. to protest recent ICE arrests nationwide. Organizers argue that ICE’s presence in Minnesota courthouses and civic spaces threatens community safety, well-being, and access to justice.
The Government Center provides essential services, including driver’s licenses, birth certificates, and court proceedings.
Protesters are calling for a ban on ICE access to the facility, an end to cooperation between Public Safety Staff and ICE agents, and the distribution of Know-Your-Rights materials in multiple languages throughout the building.
