Oklahoma Superintendent of Public Instruction Ryan Walters is teaming up with country singer Lee Greenwood to distribute Trump-endorsed God Bless the USA Bibles to classrooms across the state. Inspired by Greenwood’s patriotic song of the same name, this special edition includes the King James Bible alongside the U.S. Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and other foundational documents.

During his 2024 campaign, former President Donald Trump endorsed the Bible, emphasizing its importance for Americans, stating, “You have to have it, for your heart, for your soul.” In a promotional video, Trump also declared, “We must make America pray again,” and underscored his belief that restoring religion is key to making the country great again.

Walters, a Republican, told Fox News Digital that the initiative is privately funded and comes at no cost to the state. He argued that incorporating the Bible into classrooms is essential to understanding America’s Judeo-Christian heritage and pushing back against what he describes as “state-sponsored atheism.” He asserted that omitting religious references from historical teachings distorts the nation’s past.

So far, more than 500 copies of the Trump-endorsed Bibles have been donated to Oklahoma classrooms. Walters expressed enthusiasm about the growing support for the initiative, emphasizing the importance of teaching history as it was, including references to faith when discussing figures like George Washington and the Pilgrims.

Greenwood, a devout Christian, said he was eager to join Walters in the effort to reintroduce the Bible to American classrooms. He noted that the campaign has received widespread attention and that discussions are underway with corporate partners about purchasing Bibles in bulk. “Everywhere I go, people thank me for what we’re doing,” he said, adding that public support for the initiative has been overwhelmingly positive.
