Chet Hanks channels his father Tom Hanks’ famous Forrest Gump character in the new music video for his country duo, Something Out West.
The video for their second single, “You Better Run,” features Chet recreating iconic moments from the 1994 film, including the memorable bench scene where he sits next to Tom Hanks, as well as performing on a boat resembling the shrimping boat ‘Jenny’ from the movie.
Chet also makes an appearance as Forrest during the character’s cross-country run.
Something Out West was formed after Chet and his music partner Drew Arthur became roommates in California, where their bond grew as they each focused on sobriety.
The duo signed with Big Machine Records in February and released their debut track, “Leaving Hollywood.”
Big Machine’s roster includes artists like Tim McGraw, Carly Pearce, and Rascal Flatts.
The duo is currently working on their debut project with producer Julian Raymond, expected to release later this year.
